Update On the portrait:

Another few hours working on this. I worked the hair somemore last night. Added deep brown over the highlights in the underpainting. More work needed around the nose and mouth but it is shaping up nicely. More work on the arms and hands too. This is the thing about watercolor; one must do wash after wash with the paint to get the right effects. If one goes too dark the paint can be "lifted" with a wetted sponge or qtip. I loved this portrait from the start and always knew in the back of my mind I would paint it someday. Well that someday is here.
